Una Vida is proud to support students and families in need by providing gift cards through our annual holiday initiative. Each year, we partner with local high school counselors to distribute these cards directly to students who could use a little extra support. This project began when Una Vida’s founder, Lynne Gordon Moquete, recognized the urgent needs of her homeless high school students. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we’ve distributed more than 5,500 gift cards to the high school students who need them most!
Would you consider donating a gift card to help a student in need? Cards of any amount, to any store, are truly appreciated. We often suggest places like Target for their wide selection, but any contribution makes a meaningful difference. Thank you for your kindness and love!
Home Goods Program
A core part of Una Vida’s mission is fostering a supportive, connected community. Through our active social media network, we connect people who are looking to give or receive gently used household goods, furniture, and more.
We’ve helped children receive bicycles, young people get their first kitchen table, and rehomed so many couches you could probably line the entire route for the Butter and Eggs Day Parade! Each of these exchanges not only keeps items out of landfills but also builds kindness and connection between our community members.

Twice Annual Clothing Distribution
For over fifteen years, Una Vida has proudly supported our community through a free clothing and shoe giveaway held twice a year. In the weeks leading up to each event, our amazing volunteers wash, fold, and sort gently used donations generously provided by supporters. On giveaway day, community members are invited to select the clothing and shoes they need—completely free of charge. We’re often able to offer free children’s books as well.
These events ease financial stress while fostering dignity, connection, and care within our community.
